The arrival of the new pastor, Rev. J. Omer Lussier a month later meant the departure of long-time curate
rev. Edmund Dickinson to a new assignment in Fall River. Father Dickinson
died suddenly a year later and was buried from Sacred Heart where he had served for
23 years.
On October 1, 1969, the present curate, Rev. Richard Chretien, replaced Rev.
Roger LeDuc, who had been in North Attleboro for nine years.
Until his death in March of 1970, Father Lussier worked hard to implent the
directives of Vatican II as the parish organizations continued to thrive.
The present pastor, Rev. George Daigle arrived April 15, 1970, at Sacred Heart
where he had served as an assistant 30 years earlier. He immediately established
a Parish council to assist him in the operation of Sacred Heart.
