From Fr. Costa . . .
Christ is risen! He is truly risen! Alleluia! On this Easter day, we celebrate the core of our Faith: Jesus Christ, the only Son of our loving God, who suffered and died for us, has conquered darkness and sin by rising from the dead! All that Jesus promised comes true. Death does not have the last say. Darkness does not rule. Despair has not and will not win. He lives! And, because He lives, so do we! As we begin these 50 days of Easter, let the words of today's opening prayer challenge us: "Let our celebration today raise us up and renew our lives by the Spirit that is within us." I pray that the joy of the resurrection will be a reality in our lives; not just a nice saying or even a warm feeling, but a deep sense that God is indeed a part of our lives. May our celebrations during this season move us to recognize God's presence and respond with lives of love and service. The liturgies of the Triduum and Easter are some of the most beautiful and inspiring of our Catholic tradition. We are blessed, here at Sacred Heart, with so many talented people who share their gifts most generously. I know you join me in thanking all those who assisted with the planning and preparation of the Triduum and Easter liturgies. A special word of thanks goes to the members of the Liturgy Committee: Sue Collamati, Christine Cooper, Robyn Coverly-Dey, David D'Amico, Brenda Howard, Kathy Jaaskelainen, Diane Landry, Jeff Legg, and Herb McEvoy; to David D'Amico, the members of the Adult Choir and Youth Choir, our cantors, and instrumentalists for the wonderful musical prayer; to our lectors, eucharistic ministers, ushers and servers; to Mo Goulet, Rick Santos, and the members of the Maintenance Committee for their continued service |
